Chicago River

Stereoview of a busy Chicago River. The bridge in the foreground left is just swinging out as a tug tows a schooner towards it. The iron hulled propeller to the right is the JAPAN of ERIE, a member of the Erie and Western Transit Company's Anchor Line (the anchor on the flag on her foremast is another clue). Both sides of the river are lined with a forest of masts.
