The name Aug Ford might have been seen on the side of a clipper-looking craft which sped by here yesterday with a stiff northwest breeze, lumber laden. During a service of thirty-three years she has been nine times wrecked and abandoned as a total loss, yet is looking in as fine trim as ever.

The AUGUSTUS FORD (US#1084) was built at Oswego by Ford & Riggs in 1853. She had a few years left in her yet, going ashore near Fairport and wrecking for the last time in April of 1890.
