The fine steamer Ionia, now nearing completion at Grand Haven, was launched Wednesday. She is 212 feet keel, 227 feet over all, and 38 feet beam. She will be commanded by Frank Van Patten, of this place, and will be ready for service July 1st. She will engage in the iron ore and grain trade and her run will be between Escanaba and eastern points. Her cost foots up about $90,000.
