Digital photograph of the ALGOCAPE, heading downstream on the Detroit River at sunset (7:57 PM September 3, 2010). Departed Thunder Bay on Sept 2nd  - headed for Quebec City. IMO: 6703214
In the distance the Ambassador Bridge fills the horizon... in the middle ground, the Detroit Princess heads out for the nightly sunset dance cruise.
Notes:
Standard Seaway-sized bulk carrier. Originally launched as the Richelieu for Canada Steamship Lines on Nov. 25, 1966. In 1994, the Richelieu joined the Algoma Central Marine fleet and was renamed ALGOCAPE [2nd ship in the fleet to hold this name].
(The previous boat named Algocape was built in 1960 as the Carol Lake, acquired and renamed by Algoma as the Algocape in 1987, the sold in 1994 and renamed as the Mapleglen.)
