We learn that efforts are now making to form a steamboat combination on the lakes, for the present season. The result is said to be as yet uncertain, but more than usual embarrassment is believed to be found in effecting the desired arrangements. If the attempt should fail, we may anticipate an animated and stirring competition at the principal ports; and competition, we are told, is the life of business. [Detroit Advertiser]
