Closing Dates of Lighthouses. Notice sent out from the office of the Twelfth district, Milwaukee, gives the following dates on which lighthouses in this vicinity will be closed for the winter months, or at which winter lights which will not need keepers will be established.

December 5, St. Helena, White Shoal: Lansing Shoal. Lle Aux Calets (unsure?), South Fox Island. December 1, Petosky, Mission Point, Chambers Island, Green Island. December 7, Poverty Island, St. Martins Island, December 10, Little Traverse, North Manitou, Potawatomi, Cana Island. December 15, Beaver Island, Grand Traverse.

Plum Island and Pilot Island will be maintained as long as required for navigation purposes. The canal light will be maintained all winter, and Sherwood Point as long as required.

Peshtigo Reef Lightship and Eleven Foot Shoal lightship will be withdrawn December 1. Gray's Reef and North Manitou Shoal lightship will be withdrawn December 5.
