Around the Chain of Lakes. The tugs A. A. Carpenter and J. B. Merrill, abandoned by the Independent Tug Line, was sold by the U. S. marshal at Duluth to satisfy libels of $150 on each craft. Whitney Bros., the libeliants, bid in both the boats.
