p.3 Government grants money to the Welland Canal Co. on the condition that government boats are let through free. [Chronicle]

The amount of Tolls received by the respective Collectors, on the Erie Canal, during the year 1826, is stated at 686,700 dollars; and that of the Champlain Canal at 76,662 dollars.
