We hear the first toot of the advancing locomotive on Monday. It is now within a short distance of Workman’s Creek, and if the weather continues favourable will probably reach the station by Wednesday.

The schooner Mountaineer, Capt. Sutherland took out a cargo of wheat on Monday for J & W Stewart and H. Chisholm & Co.

The Silver Spray broke her walking beam going up to Collingwood last night. The tug Watson went up this morning to her assistance.
