Collingwood Harbour

June 1855

On Wednesday 20th instant str. Keystone State J. S. Richards, Master, came in from Chicago with general cargo, and one hundred passengers.

On the 22th schr. Queen City . B. Wilkins, Master also from Chicago, over one hundred passengers and general cargo.

On the 24th, schr. Europe (British) Captain McTavish, from Cleveland, with 250 tons of coal for the Railroad Company. This vessel engaged to run regularly from this port to Chicago in the lumber trade.

On the same day, str. Lady Elgin, L. C. Chamberlan, Master, from Chicago with a general cargo and 80 passengers. The boat came into port in splendid style, the colours flying and her Hthiopian Band playing GOD SAVE THE QUEEN In less than half an hour her passengers were on their way to Toronto in charge of that gentlemanly conductor Mr. Arlison

On the 25th, str. Niagara, Captain Miller arrived with 100 passengers and a general cargo.
