p.2 Steamboat Owners Convention - The annual meeting of the Steamboat Owners of Lake Ontario and the River St. Lawrence, for the past week in Kingston, is over and several parties are returning to their homes. The arrangements for the coming season must be satisfactory to the public, for a better class of vessels are engaged than have ever run between Montreal and Hamilton. There will be a Daily Line of Steamers between Montreal and Kingston, and another Daily Line between Kingston and Hamilton. The Lake Line to consist of the Steamers Magnet, Captain Twohy; Arabian, Captain Colcleugh; Passport, Captain Harbottle. The River Line to consist of the Steamers New Era, Captain Chrysler; Champion, Captain Milloy; Banshee, Captain Howard; and the new Iron Boat now building by the Honorable John Hamilton at Montreal. The old favorites, St. Lawrence and Ottawa, to be kept in reserve.
