p.2 Postponement - Sheriff's Sale - Bank of Upper Canada vs. Maxwell & Al. - The sale of the steamer City of Toronto, seized under execution is postponed until Saturday, January 19th next, at the same hour and place. Thomas A. Corbett, Sherriff, U.C.F.L. & A., Dec. 29th, 1855

(The Weekly is available on microfilm N-9647 at National Library of Canada)

(The originals of the Daily British Whig can be found in a bound volume at Queen's University - Special Collections. It has apparently never been microfilmed.)

** The ferry steamer Sir Charles Napier is listed in the Imports column almost every day. Since the very detailed list of boxes, packages etc. that she brings is not considered important for the purposes of this data base, she has not been included in the list after May 15th. Similarly, the arrivals of other steamers on regular routes, although shown for the whole year, have their detailed lists replaced by the term "(gen. cargo)" for the same reason.
