Launch of the Iceberg - Dr. Rae's prettily modelled Brigantine, the Iceberg, was launched from Counter's Ship Yard on Saturday last. She is heavily built - strength being more necessary than beauty, considering the severe work she is destined to perform. Yet her appearance in the water is particularly graceful. Dr. Rae, we are sorry to learn, was detained at Hamilton by illness, and could not be present at the launch. The season being too far advanced to enter upon her intended mission, the Iceberg will be engaged in freighting till the fall, when Dr. Rae will take her to England, and be prepared next spring to leave for the Polar Seas to accomplish the purpose for which his vessel was designed.
