The Chicora left Collingwood in her trip this season for Fort William on Tuesday with a large quantity of freight and a number of passengers destined for Red River.

The Enterprize says the steamer Fred Hotchkiss was launched in the Bay at Collingwood on Thursday of last week. It being the first steam boat launched there a great many people assembled to witness the sight. She is owned by Mr Hotchkiss and is intended to ply between Collingwood and Muskoka River where Mr. Hotchkiss has a large lumbering establishment and the largest timber limits we believe owned by any one person on the North Shore of Lake Huron Long may she float.
