p.2 Whitby Nov. 16 - a large fire was seen about 10 miles off Port Whitby from 9:30 to 12 p.m.

-Atrocious Murder - captain of screw Eclipse on Grand River stabs a man from Caledonia; Indian women and alcohol involved. [Brantford Herald]

p.3 Lake Ontario & St. Lawrence Steamboat Co. - had poor season, are going to dissolve. [Rochester Union]
