The steamer Algomawhich has been lying at Detroit all winter has gone into dry dock for repairs preparatory to starting for Collingwood.

The vessel is expected to reach there on Saturday next and is under orders to leave on the 2nd of May for Fort William with troops on board. It is however doubtful if the Upper Lakes are opened much will depend on this. The vessel is being made ready with all speed.

The arrangement are that both the Algoma and Chicora will start the same date and with about 500 men each.
