SCHOONER FOUNDERED -LOSS OF LIFE

A vessel that arrived here this p.m. from Chicago brought the news of the schooner Hurd being wrecked near Manitoulin Island in the gale of last Thursday. She was on her way from Chicago to this port loaded with corn and foundered. The general report is that she has entirely sunk , and that all hands on board were lost, with the exception of the captain, who it is said was washed ashore. No further particulars can be ascertained.
