p.2 Welland Canal - should it be enlarged?

-Lake Vessels - 30 vessels needed to carry coal; ice at canal locks delay launch of Phoenix at Ottawa. [Ottawa Citizen]

-Toronto April 24 - Bowmanville left with full load for Quebec.

-Toronto April 25 - steamer Avon to leave for Quebec; largest propeller on lakes -Montgomery of Milwaukee will be put on Lake Superior route.

-prop. Cuyahoga kept outside harbor by ice. [Buffalo Courier 23d]
