FATAL ACCIDENT

We regret to have to record this week the death by accident of Alonzo Pearson... It appears that on the 21st. Inst., while the vessel on which he was employed was in Detour Channel at Drummond Island Lake Huron, he was reefing the top-sail and catching hold of a rope the end of which was loose, fell to deck from the yard arm and was killed almost instantly. The first intimation his family had of the accident was a telegram informing them that the body was being brought home on the Frances Smith on Wednesday...
