p.2 Gunboats Through the Canals - bill to enlarge canals has passed through both Houses of the Legislature, to connect Erie Canal with Lake Ontario and will admit the passage of "Monitors" to Lakes. [Oswego Times]

-K.C. & M. - Chaffey's new Floating elevator arrives, also their tugs Forest, Mink and Advance.

-The new steamer Empress was towed over this afternoon to Calvin & Breck's Garden Island, to get a walking beam placed in her.
