- repairs to Hogsback dam partially completed.

-Imports - 23.

-Canadian vessels in coal trade finding trouble in Erie because of skedaddlers trying to escape draft. [St. Catherines Journal]

-schooners Gertrude and Gerritt Smith collide off Long Point; parts of schooner Cadet are found - it left Erie for Toronto on 16th.
