p.3 K.C. & M. - tug Forest and 5 barges arrive from Rideau Canal, 3 of the barges are loaded with timber for the new prop., intended to be built by Geo. Chaffey & Bros. at Brockville.

-Imports - 14,15.

-sch. Mary Ann, ashore on Point Peninsula, towed into Oswego by tug Lady Franklin.[Rochester Union 10th]

-sinking of sch. S.A. Douglas cost $35,000; woman cook was lost. [Milwaukee Sentinel]

-a list of passengers lost off steamer Bay State is given.
