-Leached Ashes - 8 Erie Canal boats left Kingston for Oswego, ashes to be used on onion beds of Connecticut as manure.

-Marine - An Important Suit - str. Huron struck sunken wreck of sch. McKey in mouth of Chicago harbor - sch. had sunk in 1856, and str. Huron sank on March 29, 1857.

-Imports - 16.
