The Firemen's excursion to Penetanguishene on Dominion day was well patronized.... The captain and purser of the steamer Myrtie did all possible to promote the comfort and enjoyment of passengers even making an extra trip between Waubaushene and Penetanguishene to avoid crowding. The ancient village was crowed no less than eleven hundred persons having come by the Francis Smith from Owen Sound and Meaford
