-Collisions on Lake Huron - Loss of the Schooner Storm Spirit - struck barque City of Milwaukie off Bark Shanty; built in 1856, partially rebuilt in 1861, 213 tons burthen.

-barque Chenango and prop. Winona collide on Lake Huron, due to smoky weather.
