p.3 K.C. & M. - The Rideau steamer City of Ottawa was launched today from the Marine Railway, after having received false sides. She loads for Ottawa tomorrow or the following day.

-letter from Amherst Island - a skiff with an iron slip-keel drifted ashore on south side near the head, along with several hats.

-New Steamboat At St. Catherines - sister to Perseverance to be launched by Shickluna, 180 x 31 x 12' 4'', 700 tons measurement. [St. Cath. Journal]

-Steamer Empress - to run daily across lake. [Coburg paper]

-To Masters and Owners of Vessels - new law of Congress regulating lights comes into effect on Sept. 1. [Oswego Times]

* Canadian law also changes at that time.

-Imports - 17, 18.
