p.2 Whitby Assizes - Gibbs vs Gildersleeve - Corinthian was supposed to carry 2 loads of flour to Rochester and only carried one; verdict $2,000 for plaintiff Gibbs.

-Boat For Sale By Auction - a sailboat of 20 foot keel.

p. 3 The Yacht Race - tonnage of Belle disputed.

-sch. Louisa to be total loss [Oswego Times]

-sch. Asia - abandoned as total loss, 2 years old. [Detroit Post]

-bark Acorn ashore at Sand Beach, Lake Huron. [ibid]

-sch. Denmark ashore near Evanstown, Illinois. [Milwaukee Sentinel]

-sch. George C. Finney made round trip Chicago to Oswego and return in 26 days.

-barque Great West #1 probably a total loss.
