p.2 Launch of a New Steamer - Norseman launched at Cantin's shipyard, hull of oak and elm, engine by E.E. Gilbert, 36" cylinder and 10 foot stroke; the 138th steamboat built by Cantin; paddle-wheels 25' in diameter. [Montreal Gazette]

-Marine Items - sch. Oneida Chief ashore 40 miles from Marquette; the prop North burnt last year on River St. Clair and sunk in 20' of water to be raised and made into barque.
