The loss of the Str. City of Winnipeg is reported from Duluth at the dock at which place she took fire and was burned to the water's edge, a total loss. She belonged to the Georgian Bay Transportation Co's fleet, was valued at $50, 00 and insured for $39, 000 Four of the crew perished.

Messrs Spink Galbraith and Shepard of Alliston were passengers on the ill-fated City of Winnipeg.

Mr. Will Capon was a sufferer by the burning of the steamer City of Winnipeg at Duluth. His effects were on board and were destroyed with the rest of the cargo.
