Magnet and Colonist are hauled out at Portsmouth; Peter Mitchell to rebuild Colonist, Magnet to receive general repairs; rumoured that Canadian Navigation Co. intend to build a drydock at Portsmouth.

-a man was killed while hauling a vessel out of ice at Belleville.
