p.2 Our Marine Note Book - The sailor's strike with all its novelty has ended. The men asked $1.50 a day, American currency, and though they had a strong combination, were willing on Saturday to accept $1 in gold, or its equivalent in greenbacks, about $1.35 - a considerable rise nevertheless.
