There seems unfortunately to be no doubt as to the fate of the missing propeller Jane Miller which has not been seen since shortly after leaving Meaford on the 23rd November on her last trip for the season to Michael's Bay. A search among the islands near Wiarton has resulted in oars and other belongings of the vessel being picked up, and there is too little reason to doubt that she foundered in the storm or was driven on the rocks. Her passengers and crew numbering thirty persons, nearly all of whom belonged to Meaford, Owen Sound and Wiarton and there is consequently much distress in those places.
