-Canadian Navigation Co. Steamers - Passport having hull planked up to the water mark to make her less liable to damages in running the rapids; hull of a new steamboat has just arrived at Canton's from Glasgow, boiler to be built by Mr. E.E. Gilbert; hull similar to Spartan, but on composite plan. [Montreal News]

-schooner Advance being rebuilt; steamers St. Helens and Ottawa and ferry boat Prince Edward being refitted. [Belleville Intelligencer]
