p.2 Notes By the Way - a letter to editor - about trip by train to Toronto and elsewhere - a great deal on possible destruction of carrying trade of Canada (because of new tariff on wheat, grains and coal) as far as transport of American grain to seaboard via Kingston, St. Lawrence and Montreal is concerned.

p.3 Still Putting On Screws - order from Washington forbids Canadian steamers from transporting passengers from one American port to another.

-The Napanee Garrison Artillery - to man gunboat Rescue.
