p.2 Picton Assizes - Fraser vs Home Insurance Co. - postponed until next court.

- Richardson vs Home Insurance Co. - James Richardson was mortgagee of Waterwitch, a great deal of evidence given; verdict for plaintiff for full amount of policy plus interest. Mr. Hibbard of Buffalo was Council for plaintiff.

-The Second Class Race - 3rd prize awarded to Belle owing to default of Hard Tack.

-The Empress - hull floated, boiler removed and hull taken over to Garden Island.
