p.2 The Gale - the William John was at anchor off the Marine Railway, dragged anchor, drifted against the wharf near the Water Works and under the quarter of sch. Amoskeag pounded until she became a total loss; she was recently rebuilt and newly rigged; the small tug Sarah awaiting a new engine at Marine Railway went to pieces on beach at Point Frederick; str. Rochester had her guards smashed; barge John Marks was found a total wreck at head of Amberst Island by tug H.A. Calvin; the barge was new, owned by Whitney of Detroit and valued at $18,000; a new steam barge was ashore at the Upper Brothers and got off by tug H.A. Calvin; the sch. Emperor of Oswego and another are ashore at Presque Isle; sch. Leviathan ashore at Port Burwell is a total loss.

-Goderich - barge Harvest waterlogged, towed in by tug Samson.

-Picton - a vessel ashore on north side of Salmon Point is wrecked and all hands are lost.

-Windsor - a vessel is ashore in Lake Erie near Kingsville.

-Port Dalhousie - sch. American of Three-Mile Bay damaged rigging.

-Kincardine - a vessel ashore between here and Southampton, the barge Kenosha drifted across from Point aux Barques.

-Arnherstburg - str. W.G. Graves struck a wreck and was damaged.

-Port Colborne - sch. Mary Ann Rankin of Buffalo is breaking up on Sugar Loaf reef; barque Superior damaged rigging; sch. W.G. Keith ashore at Long Point; barque Fanny Campbell damaged sails.

-Port Elgin - sch. W.W. Grant of Port Burwell is ashore.

-tug Kate Fletcher burned at dock at Saginaw City.

-sch A. Stephens ashore on Snake Island, towed off by H.A. Calvin.

-sch Nellie Brown capsized off Stoney Island, near Sacketts Harbor.

-sch. Northern Belle and bark City of Buffalo collided in Straits.

-new prop. Europe launched at Shickluna's.

-Cleared - a list of vessels leaving Chicago and Toledo for Kingston.

-Imports - 31.

p.3 The Rochester - discontinued trips to Oswego and Charlotte - not paying.

-The Corsican - visited by many people.

-Police Court - sailor charged with vagrancy.
