-Lighthouse Service - tenders called for building lighthouses at Salmon Pt., Lake Ontario; Middle Island, Lake Erie; Porphyry Pt., Lake Superior; Michipicoten Island, Lake Superior and Small Island, Lake Superior.

p.3 Charters - at Chicago for Kingston.

-Fast Time - str. Picton from Picton to Belleville with 2 stops in 2 1/2 hours.

-Canadian Production - sch. Tecumseh arrives from Goderich with load of salt.

-The Burning of the Str. Huron - Particulars - it had a cargo of iron and a few barrels of high wines; one deckhand died.
