Resignation And Appointments - We learn, on undoubted authority, that at the late meeting of the boar, the Hon. J. G. Macaulay resigned his situation as one of the government directors of the Welland Canal Company and was immediately appointed their principal engineer; and it is supposed he will soon return to this place, and become a settled resident here. It is also intimated to us, that, in accordance with the general desire of all parties concerned, as well as of the publick at large, the Hon. John Wellson will be reinstated in the office of director, formerly held by him, to fill the place made vacant by the resignation of Mr. Macaulay.
