-Township of Howe Island - Council - Capt. Lewis' bill for $7.80 for wire for ferry scow at foot of island, ordered to be paid.

p.3 Loss of the Bavarian - The Captain's Body Found - Mr. H.T. Chamberlain, Coroner, has telegraphed to the friends of the late Captain Carmichael, of the ill-fated steamer Bavarian, that the body of the deceased has been found at Brockport, New York, on the south shore of the lake, between Rochester and Niagara River. Captain Thomas Leech has left Toronto for Rochester, to bring the remains home.
