Welland Canal Marine List - We learn, from our attentive and obliging correspondent at Port Dalhousie, that "137 schooners entered that port, upwards bound, and 154 passed downwards, during the month of July, including 18 timber vessels," which received their cargoes at that harbour. We are also advised, by the Collector, that "upward tolls are on the increase, and likely to continue so, for the remainder of the season - 41,000 barrels of salt, having passed upwards," during the same period.
