p.2 Disastrous to Shippers - low freight rates from stagnation of business and excess tonnage. [Hamilton Times] + addition by [Whig] - at Court of Revision in Kingston last week, 1 vessel owner showed proof of loss of $3000.

p.3 Forwarding - annual general meeting of the Shareholders of the St. Lawrence & Chicago Forwarding Co. held at Montreal; a dividend of 10% declared.

-Briefs - In the House at Toronto, Mr. Robinson has presented the petition of Capt. W.R. Taylor and vessel owners of Kingston, in regard to what they claim as an unjust assessment of their floating property.
