The Assizes - Fraser vs Lockwood - Jury Case - an action brought by the owner of the vessel B.W. Folger against the defendant, who was the owner of a cargo of coal being carried from Oswego to Belleville. The vessel got up on a shoal, and large expenses were incurred in getting her off, for which the owner of the coal is asked to contribute, as the expenses as alleged were incurred for his benefit as well as for the owner of the vessel. The action is brought for what is called general average.
