p.2 Napanee Assizes - Messrs. Downey and Capt. Allen of sch. Nellie Downey brought action against Capt. Patterson for collision which occurred last season at night near Amherst Island. It was very dark and the jury found for the defendant on the ground that it was a pure accident.

p.3 Lost Her Wheel - str. Chaffey lost wheel at Maitland.

-All Safe - sch. Peerless.

-Swifts Wharf - arrivals and departures.

-The River - Racing - between Chaffey (built at Portsmouth by Messrs. Chaffey & Co.), Peerless and Stranger - from Brockville to Ogdensburg; Chaffey was last to leave but first to arrive; suggestion that Admiral is faster than Maud. [Recorder]
