p.2 Marine Notes - launch at Clayton of steam barge Dolphin and str. D.C. West; sch. Creole sinks in slip at Brockville; vessel transfers at Ogdensburg to settle estate of late James Wade.

-Port Colborne - 20th up (list of vessels upbound in Welland Canal on April 20).

p.3 The Seaman's Act - We lately printed the provisions of the Seaman's Act, this year extended by Parliament to the inland waters of Canada. One of the requirements is that a register shall be kept of the ship, port, tonnage, master, owners, crew, with articles of agreement which these last shall sign. A penalty of $20 lies open for each omission. The necessary forms can be had at the British Whig office, not being yet on regular sale in the city.
