p.2 The Burning of the Prop. St. Clair - fire discovered off 14 Mile Pt., had left Ontonagon for Houghton, Michigan, 18 perished.

- ad for Excursion to Alex. Bay on July 20 on str. Maud.

p.3 Collins Bay - arrivals and departures; Collins' Bay Rafting Company's 3rd raft.

Sloop Spartan - feared lost but o.k.; had dropped anchor behind 9-Mile Point near Mexico Bay, dragged ashore on sandy beach, now off.

- reward offered for body of Patrick Gorman, lost off Oswego Belle, while crossing from Oswego to Kingston on July 4th.
