p.2 The Countess of Dufferin - still at Staten Island, N.Y.; a difficulty between Capt. Cuthbert, her builder and Vice-Commodore Clifford, her principal owner.

p.3 W.W. - yacht Kathleen of Belleville receiving improvements and alterations at Kingston.

- The Kingston and Rideau Navigation Co., with a capital of $12,000, has been incorporated.

p.3 MARINE NOTES

-On Saturday three rafts arrived at Quebec for Calvin & Breck.

-The new pleasure yacht Cruiser is at the foundry wharf and will be ready for service two weeks hence.

Chicago Charters to Kingston: Schrs. Havana, Madeira, Mont Blanc, Hoboken, and M.L. Cummings, corn at 4 3/4 cents. Corn to Kingston at 4 3/4 cents. Pay canal tolls, shortage, etc. and how much is left?

Arrivals since last report: propeller Lincoln, East Saginaw, 25,000 pipe staves (Collinsby Rafting Co.); A.L. Andrews, Chicago, 19,018 bush of corn (M.T. Co.); Hippogriff, Chicago, 18,175 bush of corn (M.T. Co.); Trinidad, Chicago, 20,953 bu barley, (A. Gunn & Co.); Sweet Home, Sodus, 234 tons coal; C. Robb, Manistee, 30,600 pine deals, M.T. Co.

-The following vessels passed through the Welland Canal: Lewis Ross, Bay City, Garden Island, staves; Siberia, do, do, timber; M.A. Lydon, do, Collinsby, staves; British Lion, Blank, Garden Island, timber; Manzanilla, Bay City, Collinsby, do; M.A. Muir, Rifle River, do, do; Prop. L. Shickluna, Toledo, Montreal, gen cargo; City of New York, Duluth, Ogdensburg, do; City of Concord, Chicago, do, do.

Whiggings - The Buffalo vessel-owner's association recommended the tying up of half the vessels.
