STR. CHEQUAMEGON LACKED REQUIRED METAL LIFEBOAT

Local steamboat inspectors at Grand Haven have suspended for sixty days the license of Capt. C. C. Fowler, master and first-class pilot, because the steamer Chequamegon had not been provided with a metallic lifeboat as required by law and as directed by the inspectors. The Chequamegon is owned by the Chequamegon Bay Transportation Co., of Ashland, Wis.
