Arrived at Holcomb & Stewart's - Schr. Florida from Toledo with 32,300 bus corn. Schr. Trinidad from Chicago with 20,200 Bushels Barley. Barge Eagle left for Montreal with 21,000 Bushels corn in tow of Tug Chieftain.

Passed Through the Welland Canal: Maggie McRae, Saginaw, Quebec, lumber; Princess Alexandria, do, do, do; Bessie Barwick, Toledo, Kingston, timber; M.A. Lydon, Bay City, Garden Island, staves; Lily Parsons, Black River, Brockville, coal; F.C. Leighton, Milwaukee, Kingston, wheat; prop. Argyle, Duluth, Quebec, general cargo.

The Emma - not too successful at Belleville regatta.

Racing - The strs. Admiral and Island Belle had a race between Alexandria Bay and Cape Vincent, and the Admiral won. Now we should like to see the Geneva have a tilt with the above steamers, and we believe she can beat them both.

Royal Mail - Owing to repairs which are now being made, no steamer left Montreal today; consequently there will be no boat for Toronto and Hamilton tomorrow evening. But there will be the usual up bound steamer on Sunday evening.

The Cruise - of yachts Enid, Kathleen, Katie Gray, Resolute, Pioneer.

Aug. 4, 1877

p.3 W.W. - schr. R. Gaskin seized at Detroit.

- strs. New York and City of Kingston seized owing to incompetency of engineers.

Marine - schrs. J.R. Noyes and Hercules arrive.

Seizures - strs. New York and City of Kingston.

The Toronto Yachts -

Regatta - Col. Shaw, American Consul at Toronto, wants to have a series of regattas.
