p.3 Oswego Vessel Owners -The Oswego vessel owners met on Thursday. Considerable discussion occurred on the feasibility of the operation of a local board of owners, inasmuch as the up coarse freights are forwarded from several different points and the charters are made at all points, from Port Colborne to Kingston, and directly between shippers and captains, so that foreign up lake traders could not consult the action of any board, but could slip in and take the freights at lower rates for the sake of despatch. The Palladium says that action on this subject was deferred until after the meeting at Cleveland.
