p.2 Toronto - A meeting of sailors was held last night for the purpose of organizing a union. The rate for going through the Welland Canal was fixed at $1 and of sailing on Lake Ontario at $25 per month.

p.3 Steamer Pierrepont - The steamer Pierrepont made a trip to Garden Island and back today. Out in the harbour she encountered some thick ice, but her passage was made comparatively easily. The record of the past few years is as follows:
